How the hell does our driver Scott Lovett get such good standing starts?
In one just-for-fun race of 1987 NASCAR historics vs modern sports sedans, Lovett was able to move from the back of the grid at Lime Rock Park almost all the way to first place before turn 1. There was, of course, a massive crash once the field got to turn 1, but that’s neither here nor there.
Lovett says his starts are down to skill. Fellow driver Ryan Flannery seems to agree.
Flannery said, “actually using the clutch pedal is my guess. I neutral dump it without a clutch because I’m special.”
